Dumbo Feather’s high school comp (no parents allowed!)
Dumbo Feather’s high school student storytelling competition, New Conversations, is now open!
To enter, Australian students in years 7-10 must interview someone who inspires them. Students can then tell their story in four ways: a 300-word summary of the interview, a cartoon strip, a video or written conversation in the form of a Dumbo Feather interview.
The competition aims to connect students to the power of storytelling, help develop their communication skills and place emotional value on face-to-face conversation.
This year we’ve partnered with the award winning education organisation Cool Australia to create an extensive Australian Curriculum-aligned toolkit for teachers that has free lesson plans, digital worksheets and a host of other resources to support New Conversations in the classroom.
Students and teachers will have the chance to WIN an iPad, a 1-year subscription to Dumbo Feather, cash prizes and be published in the Dumbo Feather magazine and website.
