Who Inspires You? We want to know.

New Conversations is a creative writing competition for high school students to interview an individual who inspires them. For us, it is important to share our passion for storytelling and use Dumbo Feather to encourage young people to seek out and examine who and what inspires them.

The aim behind New Conversations is to encourage young people to live with passion and purpose.

For more in depth information on the parameters and the judging criteria for the competition please click here to view the Teachers Brief.

If your school is interested in participating in New Conversations, please click here to download the Schools Application Form, Student permission slip and also the interviewee permission slip.

Assets for students
We’ve created a Style Guide and Writers Bible that will help students with formatting and putting together their conversations.

Need an example? Take a look at this interview that was put together by Titian Linley – who is 16 years-old and did work experience with us recently!

For handy hints and tips that will help students with interviewing, writing and editing, watch the videos below with with Myke Bartlett, Sofija Stefanovic (writers for Dumbo Feather) and Livia Albeck-Ripka (Deputy Editor of Dumbo Feather).
