Behind extraordinary ideas, there are extraordinary people.

For creative types, it seems self-doubt is fuelled by social media—daily, hourly, even by the minute, as we refresh news feeds displaying the creative endeavours of our more experienced and wonderfully talented counterparts.

Enter Ira Glass—and this video pearl of wisdom.

It’s ok to be worried, to not be satisfied. Because the reason you’re a creative is because of your taste. And when you’re just starting out, how could you possibly live up to your creative dreams and ambitions?

Bridging the gap between our tastes as creatives and our abilities as beginners can seem all too daunting. But, reassures Ira, it’s a dilemma that every creative person, no matter how brilliant, has faced and conquered. Just ride it out and keep on creating, because we’ll all get there in the end.
